I remember an Esci(?) kit that had box art of an F-15 in near vertical flight launching a missile skyward as being called a satellite killer. I wasn't an aircraft builder at the time, but the box art intrigued me.

Anyway, nice looking kit. Hasegawa makes some really nice model kits. They made a series of Jeep kits in 1/24 scale that was neat, but not thirty years better than the old Italeri series kits.

I want to build another one-off F-15- the Streak Eagle.  It was scrapped right after the record flight.  When I worked at MDC, my office window overlooked the scrap yard.  When I walked to the lab, which I did regularly, I walked right past it.  The mods they made, like chem milling some of the skin for lightness, meant it could not be returned to spec.  It was largly unpainted except for a few panels with a thin coat of primer.

That's a cool looking model.  I love the look of the F-15, and you did a great job on your kit. I'm getting old cause I do enjoy looking at older builds. Nostalgia.

Beautiful Eagle, Tojo!

I remember that Hasegawa kit was the one to have back in the day.  Always wanted to get one when I saw it in the hobby shop, but it was just too darned expensive for my teenager budget at the time.  Very cool piece of history...both the real aircraft and the kit.  Was that the one that had the photo-etch mirrors as well?

Thanks yes they are there couldn't remember if they came with the kit or were AM
