When is the IPMS show in Idaho? How long do you have to get this built and finished?

I remember Testors put out a F-14 boxing with markings to do any of the jets from the first movie. I'm guessing that's the case with this one? I'm looking forward to seeing it done. Good luck!

Yeah Testors did a few Top Gun related kits. The Tomcat with the markings for Maverick, A Skyhawk in Jester's or Viper's markings, and F-5 "Mig-28".

Best of luck on meeting the time deadline. I have a couple Revellogram Tomcats in my stash and can tell that the seam clean up will be somewhat extensive on the fuselage .

Thanks for the best wishes, the kit is dated and this will be the first model completed in forty years.  I don't want to do a shabby build, but I will do what it takes to complete this model by the dead line.

I've paint and decaled the wings and will weather them with oils for the first time, wish me luck

Ziggy, I think that you'll like working with oils. They are very forgiving and easy to learn. Their only downside is extended drying times, depending upon temperatures and humidity. A hair dryer can speed up the process.

Wings look good Ziggy. Wish monogram had make the spoiler/flap detail on the wings more crisp, would look great with a little wash if they had... Can still be done though with a bit of work...

Thanks, Stikpusher and Cbaltrin

I did try the oil, first a dark wash and then some gray and white

Great detailing on the missiles. Great detailing on the whole aircraft.
