What manufacturer makes a really decent kit? Has anyone made one?

Heller/ Airfix is the only game in town in 1/72. The box scale Revell one is crude. There's a Heller build by Frank going on here.

Minicraft have a line in 1/144.  I did this EC-121R and it's typical minicraft.  Bit of seam work here and there and some soft details but a good kit overall.

Thanks,

Haven't done much with mine in a while. The Heller kit is good and in the aftermarket you can get a P.E. set from Bronco(?) for the kit. Vintage Flyer Decals has a nice selection of liveries for the Constellation. Mine will be Eastern Great Silver Fleet if I ever get the build finished.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

At Korat we had the A.D.C. Connies with the large radome on the bottom.  It was something to see them crank up and put out the smoke from their engines.  They were grey and had the Air Defense Command ensiginia on their tail.  A couple had a custom name on the nose.  One was a cocktail glass behind its nose radome.

When they were starting to come home I asked one of the pilots coming through customs how long it would take to get home and he said about 40 flying hours.

Revell did a nice kit in 1:144.  I built it -easy build- it came out great.

Be sure to look at the next forum down, Civil aircraft.  While not a lot of traffic, but the Connie is a frequent subject of those that are.
