Hasegawa 1/48 FA18-F
Posted by plasticjunkie on Thursday, October 26, 2023 8:33 AM

Just completed this Hasegawa kit as a comission. The cockpit was built  OOB and is plain naked and very poorly detailed so a resin pit set is amust if the canopy is done in the open position. Overall detail is ok but  expected better from Hasegawa. On a positive note the kit decals were outstanding, having clear and thin carrier film.

Beauty!  I've got their A/C and the G in the stash.  How was the kit?

Thanks,

John

Thanks. The pit details are very weak. If you add a resin pit it will make it a killer model. All parts fit good and have great molded detailing in the gear wells. The kit decals were fantastic.

Nice work!  I just finished mine and I've got to say the quality is pretty poor on this kit.  Seemed like nothing fit very well at all, big gaps and parts that just did not go together well.  Admittedly this is only my 3rd kit back from a decades long hiatus.

I've noticed that Hasegawa is rather a "hit or miss" sort of proposition.  They're either perfectly fine, without problems, or they're missing parts or misaligned.

I guess it depends on whether the crew just got back from lunch time sake break!
