Tamiya & Hasegawa 1/48 B-17G's

Anyone know if these are really going to be or are they just rumours. Aircraft Resouce Center has posted pictures of the box art with claims that they are real, but since it's April Fools, is it true?

Well, lets pray. I have been dreaming of this for years. But why can't anyone make a B-17F? (besides revel) Hopefully these kits will have that option.

I haven't heard of anything being released except for Panda's 1/32 B-17. Since today is April Fools, I'll believe it when I have it in my hands..!!

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

The first widespread rumblings about the Tamiya kit started around a month ago. There have been rumors galore for years and the odd joke is made now and again. I always make a joke such as, "Wait for the *_____ kit!" (* - insert manufacturer of choice).

Who really knows? The Hasegawa Fort I hadn't heard of and if that was announced (especially on 4/01) then I can almost guarantee it to be a hoax. I can't see Hasegagme doing a 48th B-17 or anything else of that type. It's just "not them"! But... they've surprised us many times in the past!

I heard somewhere else that the B-17 from Hasegawa would be the Monogram kit released in a Hasegawa Box only in Japan. I don't remember where I saw that I thought it was in this forum somewhere. Hasegawa has had a B-29 I think I saw it on ebay a while back.

AH! Yeah, I forgot that Hasegagme likes to release other manufacturers' kits every once in awhile. Monogram seems to have been their favorite along these lines in the past. Still, seems to be a rather large one for them to do...
