Another Tuskegee Airmen ?
Posted by didfaI on Saturday, May 1, 2004 5:14 PM
I've researched everything I can find about the T/A's and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to some of my questions. I've read the books, looked at the historical films and spent hours online to find the answers. Here goes:

1. P-40F or L with the 99th, May '43, Tunisia w/79th FG; photos/squadron colors?
2. P-39Q ", Feb, '44, Sicily, what FG; photos/squadron colors?
3. P-47C, '43, Italy: poported to be "1st Red Tails" w/12th AF; photos or squadron colors?
4. B25J's & P-47N's of 477th Composite Gp (332nd/477th BmGp): color schemes?

I'm trying to assemble a set of 1/48th a/c flown by T/A's

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

I'm doing the same thing...only with just the fighters.

1. The AM Tech P-40L kit features on it's cover a Tuskegee P-40 "Ace of Pearls". The top scheme was ANA 618 Dark Earth and ANA 619 Sand... with ANA 620 Azure Bkue below. Here's a pic of the boxtop:

2. According to the reference to "Quanto Costa" on my Three Guys Replicas decal sheet instructions-- the 100th FS flew them, although I do believe some of the other three did as well. No photos-- but the top was olive drab and te bottom neutral gray.

Thanks, I have that one to represent the P-40L of the 99th with the 79thFG.
The schemes I'm really looking for are for the P-39Q squadron markings and both the P-47N's & B-25J's of the 477th Composite Group.Bow [bow]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]
