The vast majority of RAF Dakotas in 1944 were painted in the same OD/ Neutral Grey in which they left the factory. With Allied air supremacy over the landing grounds and beaches, the Brits didn't see the point in wasting time and resources in giving their Daks a more 'tactical' finish.
Note, of course, that the AC-47 was an entirely different bird, and, for operations in 'Nam, mostly had matt black undersides.
