Tips and hints needed on a FW 190D-9!
Posted by proosen on Saturday, May 8, 2004 4:01 PM
Hi guys!
As I'm an automodeler I sure could use some help on my recent purchase, the Academy 1/72 Focke-Wulf WF190D-9 "papagei staffel". Is there any problems with the kit itself or can it be built OOTB without any major modifications? I don't care that much if there is some problems with the outline of the kit as it looks like a 190 to me Cool [8D] I saw some great pics of a super detailed Academy kit and I don't think he altered the main appearance of the craft. The main problem as I see it with Academy's kits is the poor decals, I've built six WW2 fighters earlier in their range and there was more or less fuss to get the decals right on all of them.

Thanks in advance!

It's a pretty nice kit, fits well, no major vices. The horizontal tail planes are somewhat the wrong shape & size, but only matters to the purist. Decals are typical Academy and best replaced with AM.
