Dang, didn't see it on a site, saw it at a show. I had my Nate there, and he his, so we naturally compared notes. I meant to ask the fella a few more questions than I did. Oh well, I'm sure I'll bump into him again!

General Lee,

Just curious, are you the same Jamie from Canada that built a 48th Hasegagme Nate in green (I think) and brown camo?

I agree with eagle334. Alclad II is very tough and will easily take the Future over it, but it will probably "disrupt" the natural metal appearance, especially with the polished aluminum. I would leave well enough alone. Good luck!

Future itself won't hurt the metalizer but it does hurt the apperance of it. It ends up looking like a silver painted aircraft, not natural metal. The best reference I can give of this is restored warbirds painted silver that should be natural metal. Alclad is very tough, not like the model master metalizer. I have used it on a couple of kits and it holds up well to handelling and masking. Hope this helps.

I have not actually tried it, but Alclad is a Lacqure, and Future is an acrylic... and I have painted acrylics over Alcad with great success... so it should work.

FUTURE on top of metalizer/Alclad ???
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 7:42 PM
I wanna try to put a good coat of FUTURE on top of some "bare metal" finishes. I have used modelmaster spray aluminum, polished Metallizer (buffing) and thinking of trying new Alclad Chrome or polished aluminum. Anybodt have any experience? Am I looking at a possible gloppy silver mess?

Thanks,
