I haven't done it yet, but i plan on building a nice framed box with panels of glass for some of my larger models. A local glass shop can cut any size you need for a reasonable price, and it won't scratch like some plastics. Another option is hire a maid.

You can make them with plexiglass. They glue together with acetone.

expended polystyrene foam boxes you can find at the fish market of your supermarket are real good. Some come in really huge sizes and being friendly with the staff is the key to obtaining clean, non-smelling, ones!

Use cocktail sticks to secure your base/model into the box.

Obviously, it's not the best way to view your models, but it keeps the dust away!

Hi there,

Normally diaromas are encased in transparent acrylic sheets. Such "boxes" or encasements can be purchased or made at home. Acrylic sheets can be cut according to the size of the dio and glued together using cement. Hence the only cleaning that has to be done is that of the encasement itself. This even takes care of the problem of itchy fingers that touch every part of the diorama hence leaving fingerprints and other no-no's. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Nandakumar

OK, Attention all of you glue sniffers. After you build all of those dioramas, what do you use as a dust cover or display case? I know that you are not dusting these every month. There has to be a cheap way of covering these dioramas that I am not aware of. Please Help me out here.
