Anyone know where I can get some COLOR shots of the cockpit of the X-1? None of the later versions, just the original three aircraft. Thanks!

going price- pretty cheap -under $15. Good ol' Revelogram, great bang for the buck.

I have a 1/72 Tamiya that has clear fusalage parts to show all the rocket parts... cool.

And I have a 1/48 Eduard X-1 with really great details!... it has reson and PE parts... got it from Squadron.

Hey Davey5,

That kit was an original Revell mold from the mid-late 80's. Monogram and Revell had just been merged, so to speak (although they kept the seperate brand names for many years after), and the Revell aircraft kits that were coming out showed strong signs of influence from the Monogram camp. Revell kits had always been a bit uglier than Monogram (in my opinion) and it was interesting to see the changes that took place after the merger.

It is a nice kit. At that time Revell and Monogram kits were still the predominant mainstream model manufacturers in the USA. And they were definately the best bang for the buck! Foreign kits by the likes of Hasegawa and Tamiya were still somewhat exotic to almost all but the most hard-core builders.

Someday I'll build mine...
