Trumpeters 1/24th Spitfire
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 4, 2003 2:26 PM
It's funny how everyone on other Model sites are now jumping on the Trumpeter bandwagon after they released their 1/24th scale Spitfire. Just three months ago people were calling Trumpeter commie's, ripp off artists, an insult to the hobby industry ect. They even jumped all over Paul Boyer for printing a good write up of the 1/24th Mustang. Sure the Mustang has some shape problems but nothing to get excited over. What everyone forgot was Trump was new to the industry so it took them time to get things right and now that they have people have done a complete turn a round. What a crazy world aint it?Smile [:)]

I'm kinda hoping Meteor Productions does an upgrade/correction kit for it. There are a few little things, like the inside of the pilot's door, that need addressing (the Tamiya 1/48 kit has more accurate detail in half the size). But overall a nice kit. We should probably fill all those termite holes that pass for rivets, though :D.

The typo on the decal sheet is a pain, though.

John, I havent seen the kit up close and I dont intend to because I'm not a Spitfire fan. But at least your not ripping Trump for doing something wrong on the kit which dont seem to be a big deal. Now if it was the Trump Mustang people would go into cardiac arrest!
