Hello Hector - Revell did some DC-8's years ago and your friend who said they are out of production is correct. They can still be found on ebay, but they're expensive ($50+). I've heard that Minicraft will be doing some new DC-8 kits, but I do not know when they will be out.

Minicraft DC-8's are supposed to be out this Spring here in Japan, according to Model Art magazine.

The news release I saw didn't mention variants (I don't think...I'll confirm), but it was listed along with news of Minicraft's 1/144 727-200, which is coming out at the end of April here in Japan.

Well, Minicraft's been pretty good about releasing different variations. I think they've released the Boeing 777 with three different engine types. As for the DC-8, I'd like to see a -50, a -63 and a -71. That may be over-hopeful, but we'll see...

There are a couple of DC-8's up for bid on ebay right now, looks like older kits.
