My basement is so dusty and has so much cat hair hidden in places that when I'm building a model I keep the assemblies in the box or in ZipLoc bags to keep them clean. This one outgrew the box in a hurry, so I made a container out of Foam Core to keep it in. Now I have problems finding a place to keep that great big box that it's in.

I guess that when I finish it I'll have to empty a complete shelf on my bookcase for it. Either that or just park it in the bsement instead of my truck!

Thanks again, all. This kit is not a weekend build! It has a ton of parts (a bit over 500) and being 1/32 scale there is a lot of detail you can work with. It has really been a blast to build, and Trumpeter did a great job putting it together. No significant difficulties in the assembly (so far!). I will be glad to get it done so I can move on to something new though.

Great start and inspirational work. I purchased the Trumpeter F-105G after viewing your photos. Thank you for sharing your work. I can't wait to see the finished build.

Based on the number of sprues that are empty and the number still in the box, it's still going to be a while. There is still a lot to do. I'd guess it's about 2/3 done at this point.

It is a monster though, about 24" long when finished.

F-105 Starting To Take Shape

Well, by big Trumpeter F-105G is starting to take shape now. Here's a pic:

I still need to clean up the paint some, wash the panel lines and spray it with some flat Future to kill some of the gloss, but at least it looks like something now.
