F89D Scorpion-76th FIS 55-57 Pinecasle/McCoy AFB.
I'm building the Revell-Monogram 1/48 F89D/J Scorpion for a veteran who flew backseat (radar operator) in a D model and am looking for pictures and decal sources to match the 1955 -1957 time period in which he flew(exclusively in Fla.) I've obtained a Bert Kinsey In Detail and Scale for this aircraft but sofar have struck out obtaining photos ((blk & wht or color) of this particular breed. Accuracy is high on my list of musts. The Superscale Sheet # 72-640 has decals for an H model Scorpion of the 76th FIS but I don't know if those would apply to the D model and if they did can you bump up 72nd to 48th?
Any help on decals,pics,aftermarket detail sets, anything would be most appreciated. Thanks very much!!! Tom
