Opinions of the Revell 1/48 F-15E kit
Posted by MikeV on Saturday, April 19, 2003 11:09 AM
I was wondering what the opinions are of the Revell 1/48th scale F-15E Strike Eagle?

I bought this kit several years back and am just now getting around to working on it again. Big Smile [:D]

I had heard very good things about it and was curious as to how you fellow modelers felt about it?
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Wink [;)]

This is my favorite aircraft by the way. Cool [8D]

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,
A friend of mine has built two of these kits and overall they are pretty good. The only problem came with the fit of the canopy-he could'nt get the canopy down in the closed position! This was because the frame at the base of the canopy is too big for the airframe. So if you're going to pose with an open cockpit, you'll have no problems.

If you have the kit with the Tigermeet decals-cut them them into smaller peices and take great care when fitting around the hardpoints of the conformal fueltanks.

Hope this helps,

Later,

Darren.
