Jkauk,
I'm afraid the silvering is permanent - did you decal over flat paint? If you did, the above reply is probably the best partial fix for the problem. Put as many pinpricks in the silvered area as you can get away with, flood the area with a decal solvent and wait. Reapply if necessary.
To prevent this from happening in the future, decal over gloss paints only - or apply a clearcoat to flat paints BEFORE you decal, then dullcoat.
Good luck

Whaz up jkauck,,
From past experience w/ silvering, for one it might be that you have not applied enough gloss to the surface(needs smooth surface to adhere to).
If I see silvering after I have applied the "flat coat", this is what I do.
1. I will take a VERY sharp sowing needle and I will lightly tap the areas where the silvering is.
2. As I do that I will either apply Micro Sol or Solvaset to the effected areas(repete both processes as necessary).
3. Let it sit for about a half hour or so and re apply the flat coat. Believe me this may sound weird or odd but it really works..!!!

I have a shelf full of models with this problem. The silvering doesn't show up until the Dullcoat goes on. I haven't bothered fixing the problem, but I've read that slicing or perforating the decal (use a sharp blade or a sewing needle), then applying saliva will help settle the decal. I tried it once, and it sort of worked. You could also slice the decal and apply multiple coats of MicroSol.
Good luck!

I built the Dixie Clipper (first of the 4 aircraft in the Minicraft Presidential kit) and the walkway decals on the sponsons silvered on me. But they didn't silver until after I applied the dullcoat as the very last step of the build. (Dullcoat seemed to suck them off the surface) I cut away the clear transfer decal on all the other decals except that one and of course it silvered. The sponsons are little "wings" under the actual wings and I guess I didn't get enough Future on the top surface of them prior to applying decals.
Is there any way to fix the silvering through a coat of future and a coat of dull coat? Maybe injecting future somehow? Help!
