I had a resin conversion for the 1/48 C-47. Made by In-Country Hobbies. Pretty crude to the point of being unusable. I thought that someone else was coming out with a better one. Try Meteor Productions. They seem to have the good 1/48 conversion stuff!

why buy a conversion kit when you can buy the AC-47 version ready to go with decals? try ebay. I always seem to find what Im looking for. Theres a 1/72 kit going right now for 5 days 18may03. Ive seen both 1/72 and 1/48 for sale many times... make sure you vary your searches AC-47, Gunship, spooky... are all good ways to go. This goes for all models you look for on ebay. Dont give up after just one search. Good luck and I hope this helps

Monogram had the first Spooky model, a modification of the old C-47 kit. Airfix offered one as well. Esci had a kit in 1/72, too. - Ed

The January/February 1986 FSM had a nice Showcase article on Larry Schramm's 1:48 scale AC-47. It shows how he made the miniguns... worth digging through your old issues to find this. It's the issue with the Return of the Jedi diorama on the cover.

The same issue also has a decent article on a 1:48 scale R4D conversion.

I seem to recall Airfix or ERTL/ESCI made a 1/72 Spooky in the late 80's. The airframe was ok but the minigun detail was easily obscured. Hope this helps...

Don't know about the entire a/c, but the miniguns are available in 1/48 from Cutting Edge. GreatModels has them in stock, also. Hope this helps. - Ed

Anyone know of a conversion kit for the Mongram C-47 to an AC-47? I have wanted to try this for a long time. I would need decals also.
