Large scale warbird engines?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 1, 2003 6:55 PM
I have seen a couple kits of WWI radial aircraft engines in catalogs and thought they were pretty cool...but what I really want are models of WWII warbird engines. I would love to build a kit of a Wright R-1820-97 Cyclone like those found in B-17s. Twin Wasps, Allisons, Deimler Benze, and Rolls Royce engines would also be awsome. Anyone agree?

Has anyone seen kits of these things?

Ya, these are pretty sweet, but I am looking for the more mainstream WWII engines we usually see in bombers and fighters.

There aren't any other kits that I know of other than Wiliams Bros. They also sell separate cylinders and you could "double up" a pratt and whitney or scratch build....not.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire.
