My First Model

MY first kit was an f4 phantom n 1/72

My first model(w/ no help from dad) was a 32nd scale P-51B by Revell.

I think it must have been a P-40 War Hawk in 1/72 scale, you know the one with the shark-mouth ... it must have been a Monogram kit around 1958 or so.

I wish I had it in the display case now ... it would be the center of my collection .... not for its detail or quality of construction ... just because.

My first model was a 1/72 A-4...I still have it, upside down decals and all!

Back in 1968, the Enterprise from Star Trek.

Oh, man!! I remember that bright yellow Aurora Zero!! I did one of those - I was seven.............but that wasn't my first model. But I do remember it vividly - I played with that thing for weeks afterwards..........

my first model is 7-9 years ago it's A300 my first combat aircraft is F-117 my first WWII is Me-262 1/72 Hasegawa[if I remember not wrong]

An AVG P-40 in a "fit the box" scale. I had more glue on the outside than on the inside.

I think that mine was a P-40. It was out of the box dark green with the hazy white (from glue) canopy that you could see a shadow of a pilot through. It was donated to my nephew because he liked to play with it so much. He got it along with a P-51B with the same style paint job and canopy!

Mine was Monogram's "Snap-Tite" 1/72 F-4E.

I think it was an F-18 I got when I went to Space Camp back in like 92. Put the thing together while in a Atlanta for like 2 hours. Needless to say the thing looked like crap and wasn't painted at all. Oh..... The good ol days!

The first that I remember was an the old Monogram F-111 Aardvark. My father and I (well, mostly my father) assembled it when I was about 6 years old or so. Thanks be to all fathers who sparked the "modeling bug" in us...

May be not the place to say it but pongpeera_nazi could you change your name delete the part _nazi it is offensive for people in Europe.

Mine was the old Aurora SNJ in the rigid box with the great art on the front and that BRIGHT yellow plastic inside. Wish I still had it, but it didn't survive past the third grade; got a lot of hard playtime use :)

I had various first models along my life.
My first first, was a chopper, in that time his name was just helicopter, a Revell Sikosrky S-55, was around 1961, when I was 11, after I built about 15 models, I stopped for more or less 20 years. I don't need to say that I don't have them anymore, victims of the time, brother, address changes.
My second first was a ship, HMS Victory, what restart, huh? I took about 5 years to built it, I was always very busy.
Now, I'm retired, my third first was a british tank Challenger, done last year. After some models I decided to build only armor. Today I'm building a Tamiya Sherman 105mm, with help from my friend Ilhan Aydiner.
I hope not to have first anymore, and that the last one is very far away in the time. Hehehe

This had me thinking for a while. it was either 1, a revell hurricane 1/72 (the most probable candidate)or 2, a seaking that had US markings was roughly to 1/144 scale and had no interor detail or transparent parts. any ideas on which kit this was? the third was an airfix skyhawk that cost me two bob (UK readers will know how much this dates me ....pree decimalisation of the UK currency)...Gregers

Jeez, I can't remember the type but I DO remember that it was a German float plane, made by Matchbox I believe.

It came in multicolor plastic and the box had a small window on the backside to view the contents. The underside of the aircraft was a light blue.

I remember mine; My dad gave it to me when I was 8. It was revells 1\72 F-15A snap-tite kit. I bought another a few years ago and just keep it on the shelf as a reminder to me of what started it all. Sniff, Thanks dad!

Hi Erock68 the German floatplane by matchbox was a Heinkel He115 but i remember this having a cream coloured underside the Donier Do18 had pale blue underneath but this was a flying boat...Gregers
