red paint by niche for a Mig-29
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, May 4, 2003 7:25 PM
hello,

I am getting back into modelling after a long haitus and I have a question about some aircraft paint...specifically Red Paint by Niche. I am going to build a MiG-29 and I remember a company called Niche made "Red Paint", for Soviet acft. I can find nothing about them on the 'Net, are they out of business? If so, where do you get paints in standard Soviet colors? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

Mooneyk
You can check w/ Model Master(Testers). They have a line called either "Modern Soviet Colors" or just "Soviet Colors".
Hope this helps yaTongue [:P]

hello,

thanks for the info, however, the brand name of the paint was "RED PAINT", not the color of it...the paint came in many different colors, all of them used by Soviet acft and Warsaw pact acft...Communist countries, hence the Red in "Red Paint"...I need a source of modern Soviet colors, ie the late 80s and early 90s...once again, thanks for the effort.

Testors Model Master does have some modern soviet colors, for Fulcrum and Flanker. They will come up on a search of squadron.com and give you a color chip. Look for TS2133 and higher in your search.
