Matchbox Me 410
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 8:41 AM
Just bought one off eBay, and it seems like a nice kit. However, the colour codes are all messed about, and the Revell references are out of date. Anybody made one, or know what the top colours are meant to be? It could be just the ususal two-tone dark green of the Luftwaffe, but one seems more blue than anything.

The top colors are RLM 74/75 and the bottom is 76.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

Some of these aircraft were finished in the 70/71 or 81/82 with Hellblau (65) undersurfaces, such as 1./KG51's aircraft in France during 1944. The more common scheme is indeed 74/75 with 76 undersurfaces and usually 02 used with the 74/75 colors on the fuselage mottling. The prop spinners should RLM 70 or a variation adopted by particular groups such as yellow in the case of Egr.Gr.KG51 in Germany during 1944.
The Italeri and especially the Fine Molds kits in 1/72 scale are superb kits of the Me-410, though a bit more expensive.
