As long as the decals are nestled into recessed panel lines your method should not run into a problem. Good luck.

Now that I have joined this wonderful site and am learning more than I can do in one sitting, please answer this and I am sure it is applicable to many on this board.

I have already built 15 or so 1:48 WWII planes over the past few years. They were built out of the box, painted and decaled with no finishes at all applied. This includes no detailing. Now, I am looking at this thunderbolt on my desk and it could use an overhaul.

Do I first remove all the decals, dust it off, put on a coat of gloss (I assume this can be airbrushed on), do the panel lines, wash off excess, and finish with a spray of dull coat finish. I assume then I must buy new decals.

Is that correct or can this be done with the decals in place? Is there a good site to buy 1:48 decals?
