Plane captain is correct about the 1/48th Bonanza being available - I saw it in a shop today.

I have considered converting the turbo mentor into a "A" model. The fuselage and canopy are the same for both aircraft. The tail feathers are enlarged. Strakes and fillets have been added. The wings and landing gear are from the Baron. Then there is the whole firewall forward issue. I think with some kit bashing and a healthy dose of scratchbuilding, carving, vacuforming,
Squadron green putty and lots of time...I could produce a decent looking kit in 1/48 scale. I don't think I have the motivation to do that right now.

Gregers, no problem on the T-28. I'm lucky if I can remember what day it is!

The Tubro Mentor (T-34C) and Mentor (T-34 A and B) have signifantly different front ends (owing to the fact that the first two are piston engined and the later version is a turbo prop). I know of know conversion and I'd have to think that scratchbuiling a new front end would be kind a varsity venture.

Thanks for the quick response. I checked them out, and they do have one in stock. The bad thing is that they are on holiday until the 19th. I guess this will give me time to plan out what I want to do. At least I don't have to worry about getting photos and references.

As far as I know, based upon my research, The only T-34A/B kit available is the hasegawa offering. Thats a tuff scale for an already small aircraft. It should fit nicely on a desk though. I'm thinking a wheels up version on some sort of stand. This would be a first for me.
