Can anyone tell me if the Bf 109 G4/trop had metal or wooden props?

Thanks

As far as I know, they were metal from at least the 'E' model onwards, the desert would play havoc with wooden props. Also, unless someone knows different, They would be dark green, quite which shade/RLM number, I'm not sure. All of which doesn't tell you a lot, but it's a start!

I have seen several pictures of wrecked and scrapped 109's which had what were very clearly wooden props. As far as I can remember they were F's, G's and K,s. Makes sense as they were substituting wood for aluminum in the tails during the last two years of the war.

I think you are both right; what went on each aircraft depended on the exigiencies of the war and what was available at the time. The Me109 I have personally seen has a metal prop, mind you that is a Spanish build. Hope I didn't add to the confusion!
