I have that one in my stash, but, I have built their B-17 C model.
The academy B-17 kits go together rather well and the detail is good. I would go for it.

The Academy/Minicraft B-17 is the best of the 1/72 kits availabl, IMHO.

I haven't built them myself but I've read good reviews. Go for it, and don't listen to that Swanny guy. He has too much time, space and money to know what's good for him. Wink [;)]

Hey Swanny....When are you going to build the Visible B-17? I want to read the review before I start mine.

craig.mason;
I've seen this kit built by a friend whose into 1/72 and the kit looks awsome, it's like some one miniturized the Monograms B-17 and then added more details, I say it'll be worth it, also here is a great website to visit for getting the interior done www.airpirates.com go to the restoration of My Gal Sal and the complete B-17E's interior shown in color and they went by Boeing's engineering and requirements take a peek there

The Academy series of B-17 kits are superlative builds. I have all of them, have built several B-17E's and F's with no complaints.

Agree with the above that the Academy B-17 series are the best available in 1/72. Currently working on a B-17E converting it to an early B-17F.
