AML 1/72 P-40

Has anyone out there purchased the AML P-40 kit? If so any comments on the kit would be appreciated. Also wondering about the KP Yak 1's and the Maquette Yak 7's.

Hi, i have the academy P-40C in a 1/48 scale, is a good model but i like the monogram P-40B the most (1/48 also), the academy model is a litlle feature less, is a very simple model without much detail, the monogram model is more detailed, is a bit better, i dont know about 1/72 models neither AML nor KP Yak1, hope this helps.
Thanks! My Best Regards Hector Reymundo

The AML kit was a disappointment. The Academy kit, which is far better, is still available. I'd recommend you go with that one.

Actually, the Minicraft kit is not that great. It fits together okay, but there are so many shape, outline and other problems with it, where should I start?

If the AML kit fit like Minicraft's, I'd be in Hog Heaven!

I haven't purchased any AML kits before but you could try Academy's P-40 kits which have several versions on 1/72 scale. They also have some in 1/48 but not as many schemes/types in the 1/72 scales. TAMIYA have P-40s in their warbird series, but I dont know if its in 1/48. Most of my TAMIYA warbird series kits are in 1/72.

Tamiya P-40? Question [?] They don't make one, unless they market another manufacturer's kit outside of the USA.
