Not in Tulsa, but down in Oklahoma City! Metro-Tech down here has an A&P program that I'm going through. Hopefully here shortly I'll be working on some very real military airplanes!Big Smile [:D]

Dude, you may be better off buying another kit. With the new Hornet kit coming out, the price of the older kits should go down. There are a few of the older Hornet kits here in town. Hobbytown USA on S. Academy in Colorado Springs has one.

Are either of you (rebel99 or claymore68) from here in Tulsa?

My old teacher here used to work on Hueys in the Army. He said he also flew as a gunner and was shot down once. We have a Huey here (an H model I believe), and from what I've been hearing we're supposed to be getting an engine for it. Then we'll be the only aviation school in Oklahoma to have an operating helicopter- neither Tulsa Tech or Spartan have one.

Ok. It's worth a shot. "Bug" is the pilot's nickname for the Hornet.

You might get a better response with "Help! 1/32 F-18 Parts Needed!" What's "Bug" got to do with an F-18!

Help! 1/32 Hornet Parts Needed!

I have many F-18 Hornet projects going right now, and had another I want to begin but I am holding off until I know I can complete it. I have an old Hasegawa/Minicraft 1/32 scale kit that I saved from the garage. The problem I have is like this: back around 96' my Dad got one and planned to convert it to a C model and do a superdetail job on it. With that in mind he cut all of the avionics bay panels out of BOTH sides of the forward fuselage. After building the bays he went to fit the nosegear well in, and realized it wouldn't fit![:0] Rather than scrap the project Dad went to the local hobbie shop and managed to get another kit at a discounted price because it was missing one of the vertical fins. He took the forward fuselage halves and consigned the rest to the garage. I took it and brought it in the house. I can build a nice Hornet out of it, but I'm at a loss as to how to get the three parts I need. If any of you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Thanks!
