I thought Italeri had one in its catalogue... But that was 15 years or so ago... Have you checked e-Bay..?

Yup dj's right - Italeri ran a 1:72 and a 1:48 ' Ferret ' the 1:72 was still in production in 2001- i think it was a concept of italeri themselves rather than MiG
i've never seen reference for one ?...............

came out around the same time as their famed F-19 stealth. Supposed to be the soviet equivalent, but nothing looking like that has ever been seen anywhere since...

Can't say I ever saw anything that resembled the kit - and I'm well in the trade!

I'd always heard that the MiG-37 was a totally mythical Cold War scare tactic cooked up by the American government itself (No joke, I actually heard that somewhere).

I saw a couple of grainy (and I mean REAL grainy) photos in a book once that were said to be of an actual MiG-37. The outline of the shape in the photos was genearlly consistent with the shape of the bird in Italeri's kit, but it was so lacking in detail and fuzzy that I suspect it was nothing more than an intentionallty bad photo of a black paper cutout stuck to a window.

I had also heard that when the Soviet Union broke up, that the MiG bureau itself totally denied the existence of such an aircraft and that they never built or designed anything that remotely resembled what was in the Italeri kit.

On the matter of kits of it. Yes, Italeri did make it in 1/48 as well, but the 1/48 kit was not ever as easy to find as the 1/72 kit was.

Testors/Italeri kit # 502 1/48 scale MIG-37B Ferret-E. I have the kit, unbuilt, just laying around. It is not in the original box though and am not too sure if the decals are 100% their. If I remember correctly, the kit was given to me many years ago by a man going through a very nasty divorce.

Jeremy,

I have a few MiG-37's in 48th. Lemmee see if I can find them and maybe we can come to an arrangement for one of them. They're bagged, no box, but I do recall them as being complete. Email me offline at: blackwolfscd3945@aol.com
