damaged canopy
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, May 25, 2003 4:17 PM
Hi everyone:
I'm new to this forum, what a great place to exchange information and ideas!
I recently purchased an old (newly boxed, though) 1/72 Airfix Buccaneer. Unfortunately, both parts of the 2-piece canopy are damaged. Anybody know where I can get a replacement?
Thanks.

Whaz up warch,
Welcome to the forum. As to your question, on the instr do they give a address, phone # or an e-mail?? If they do call them or write them and explain your situation.9 out of 10 times they will send ya a new part(s) for nothing(good explaination and fingers crossedTongue [:P])
Or somebody here on the forum could give ya a lending hand..!!Smile [:)]. Good luck in finding a replacement canopy.
Flaps up,Mike

I purchased the Airfix 1/24 Sea Harrier from a shop here in New Zealand, when I got it home i found the canopy was broken. I went back to the shop and they took my details, and 3 weeks later a package arrived in the mail with a replacement clear sprue from the importers. I think it took so long beciase they had to get the parts from Airfix, but it didn't cost me a cent. You should try it, after all you've paid for an undamaged kit, and if the one you have purchased is damaged it's up to the shop to sort it out.

Airfix seem pretty good about that sort of thing, at least the importers here in NZ had no problems providing replacements.
