Steveo, any word on interior detai, engine in particular? As far as cars, would like to see them do some 60's-70's muscle, or some 50's-60's classics the big 3 are ignoring.

Indicating that AMs kits are starting to trickle in, after being absent, isn't on topic? Take a relax pill man... we do advertise in FSM.

Lee,

If Joe Myers of AM isn't lying, then a 1/48 R-4 is, indeed, in our future!

Long story, but he asked for suggestions and feedback (on another forum) and I said that they should do an R-4, just for something different. It was half serious and half humor.

Next day, I got an email from him. He said that one was in the works. The term he used was "80% complete" and went further to say that this meant that "the drawings are finished and the molds are almost complete".

That was almost three months ago now, so we'll see what happens. I also asked him about new cars, jokingly suggesting Porsche 917's. Licensing fees would be murderous on them, but he did throw another interesting name out. Lola.

OOOOOOH BOY! I can't WAIT!

Stevo, too cool, they are doing a 1/48 R-4? That should be good. The only other game in town isn't so good.

Fuzzy,

The parts for the "G" variant's nose are plastic. Before they "disappeared", Accurate Miniatures, in another of their efforts to "drum up" some cash so to speak, released a "conversion set" for the existing kits to make the "G" variant. It consisted of two small sprues of the appropriate parts and a decal sheet.

The set sold for around $20 and, at the time, was a much more viable option for AM given the demand for the "G" variant and the lack of capitol in the kitty. They could make a bigger relative profit by selling the conversion at a bit less than half the price of a full kit because it only contained roughly 1/10 of the plastic of a full kit.

I, for one, am glad that they did this because I looked forward to the "G" more than the other two kits. Even if the full kit were never released, I could still build my Cannon Nosed Mitchell! Smile [:)]

Does anybody know if Accurate Miniatures B-25G will have the
resin nose or if it will be injection molded ? An R-4 would be nice.

Say it with me friends... "Sikorsky R-4..." Tongue [:P]

I'm reasonably sure on this one, in 1/48 too!

No problem! I just can't wait to see fersher what's next from these folks. There's rumours all over the place (as usual), but I think that we can expect to see some unusual stuff.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Vindicator and an old whirly bird!
Can you say, egg-beater!?Tongue [:P]

Thanks, wolf. Since I live in upstate SC, I'll have to go to the Spartanburg, SC show and visit them there on 6-7 June. Nice to know they're back!

Accurate Miniatures coming back?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 3:53 PM
What is the deal with Accurate Miniatures? Are they coming back, or what? I have their B-25C/D, F3F-1, and SBD-1 kits, and although I haven't built them yet they look to be real gems. Does anyone have any info?
