One other thing, pack lots of weight (I used old Nuts and bolts held in with plasticene) into the nose to avoid the model sitting on it's tail. There's lots of room in there, and the heavier the better.

if it's the 1/48th scale kit, stand by with the filler. You'll find gaps all over the place. That aside, it's not a bad kit, and makes up into an impressive size.
As for the pitot head, try your local pharmacy for different sizes of hypo needle, fit one inside the other to reproduce the plastic one and superglue into place, much more realistic. if they don't have them big enough, maybe a vet or maybe your hobby store stocks tubing. Good luck.

I'm assuming the 1/48th scale kit:

Go to http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ and then go to their gallery page and jet aircraft page. Their is a lot written on this kit.

I've had this kit sitting in it's box for 12+ years wiating to build it. It looks good and reviews say it does build into a very impressive kit. I bought some aftermarket decals, you may wish to do the same.

You don't specify a scale, but if it's 1/72 you can expect some real fit problems. The whole thing wound up in my spares box and it was replaced with a Hasegawa hog. Much better. Haven't built the 1/48 kit but it's supposed to be good.

I am building Monogram's A-10A Thunderbolt II and I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who has built the model and could offer any tips or problems they encountered. I would especially like to know of a good way to slim down or replace the molded on pitot tube that is too thick for the scale
