B-24 in "Desert Pink"

I've got a B-24D kit that I would like to model after one of the B-24's in the raid on Ploesti. After doing a little research I was able to find out that the color of these planes was called "Desert Pink". In paintings, and a few color pictures that I have seen of the planes that participated in this raid - they all look like a light tan color. Is the name of this color deceptive ? or is there a "pinkish" component to it ? I have not been able to find "desert pink" at a local hobby store. Does anyone have a "recipe" for mixing this color ? Or is this color essentially just a light tan ? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks !
