1/32 Revell Germany Corsair

The 32nd Corsair kit is from the same basic timeframe as the other two, 60's early 70's.

I've heard that it's perhaps a bit nicer than most 32nd Revell kits of the time, but I'd say that you should expect more of the same. I've had several of these over the years, but never really looked at any of them too closely. Mostly I got them for potential trade-bait.

It is a good kit, especially for the money. Their is tons of superdetailing potential, but I built mine canopy closed, wheels up, and hung mine from the ceiling. I gave it to my brother as a birthday present.

The whole Revel 1/32 WW2 series is good for that- ceiling hangers.

I am in the process of building this model and let me tell you that if you want it to come out accurate then you have a long road ahead of you. The kit it self is beautiful. Then you look closer. First you notice the raised panel lines. I etched every single one. The cock pit needs to be thorwn out and scratch built to get it accurate. It's a mix of the 1A and the 1D. after market kits are ok but in the end you still end up scratch building alot of the parts. If you get the model pick up the squadron vol 55 part 1 detail and scale book for this plane. you will then see all the inaccuracies of the kit. The review of it in the back of the book even says its a great kit but needs alot of work to be built accurate. If you just looking for a great plane to build which is big enough to really see some detail then pick this one up. The kit is not to bad on warping and fit. and is becoming harder to find. I had originaly seen it when i was a kid but missed the chance to pick it up. I then came across it all these years later for 15 bucks. Im glad I got it now and not when i was a kid or else it would have ended up with bottle rockets glued to it and sent off in a blaze of glory.

It is the better of the 2 kits you mentioned, but I am partial to them for memory sake, I have the P-40, P-51B, Zero, P-47, Wildcat and the Corsair 1/32 scale kits of the late 60' to early 70's, as a collector. But to build, I agree with F4U Fan, alot of work is needed and I have seen people do wonders with these old kits too, so good luck, maybe with the little patience I will tackle these kits since I have two of each.
