Give us a little more information, such as scale and kit manufacturer. I am sure someone here has built it in the scale you need.

Well, I don't think anyone ever made an A-6A kit, I know they made A-6Es, but only a few companies ever even made that one! The Intruder is kinda like all worthwhile airplanes that way. The military uses them in great numbers and for FOREVER, but no one pays any attention to them! Take the Thunderchief and Chinook for examples, the thud was used for 30 years, the chinook is still used to this day! But how many ppl have come out with kits of them? And of those manufacturers, who still manufactures those kits? Barely any. Then, take the F-18(I will never use the "A" designation for a Hornet. There is nothing "Attack" about them!) as a counter example. F-18s are short of useless, but, EVERYONE seems to make a model kit of 'em! Maybe the amount of different kits is in direct proprtion to the aircraft's usefulness, or lack there of?

1/100 scale A-6A- Tamiya, Kit # PA 1012. Revell, Kit # 4025

1/72 scale A-6A- Hasagawa, Kit # JS-023, 023, 1023 & E006

1/48 scale A-6A- Fujimi, Kit # 0777. Testors A-6A Kit # 333

So there have been a few A-6A kits around. I don't know if any are still available.

Berny - I think Fujimi did a 1/72 scale A-6A as part of that series of A-6's they did a while back. The only one I have is their -E model. I could be mistaken on this. Not big on Navy a/c.

Pat

Could be. The list I posted was from Detail & Scale, Vol 24, printed in 1987. It is possible more kits of the A-6 has been released and several re released.

I've got the Fujimi A in 1/48th. It is one of the many to be's. I haven't looked at it in a while. The cockpit is pretty simple. I think I have read in here that there are no aftermarket improvements. Can't say much about fit as all the parts are still on the sprue.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

The Fujimi A-6A is a very old kit dating back to the late 70's. With other newer kits around I am supprised this one is still present. I know Testors has released the same kit several times.

If you can, get a copy of Detail & Scale Vol # 24, A-6 Intruder. It goes into detail on the Fujimi kit. All I can say is be prepared to spend money on new seats and cockpit.

FSM had a review of the following many years back, you'll have to do a search for them:

1/72 Fujimi A-6
1/48 Monogram (Revel-Monogram now) A-6A/E

I have built both kits and both are great! I think the 1/72 kit can begotten from Squadron.com. You'll have to search Ebay for the 1/48th Monogram.
