Slime lights...

Having never been a fan of decal slime lights, I tought about painting them in. I don't know if anyone makes that color, but my idea was to use a glow in the dark paint. I had seen some in a fishing catalog, so I knew it would be waterproof but have not seen it since. Yesterday I found a water based gel paint made for fabrics by Plaid at Wal-Mart so I gave that a try. It went on goopy in it's natural state and brushed easy enough. I'll try thinning with water on another application. I was using an old snap-together kit from my son's ceiling collection. Results were mixed, as I was painting over the gray of the model. I'm thinking a white base coat first will work best. The raised panel lines were a plus to the application because they held the paint where I needed it. Color wise, they are a little too yellow-y for actual slime lights, but for this plane, it was just cool to see them "flying" with their form lights on!
