Still my favorite. Haven't built one in years but the F version was the one I liked best. The numerous color schemes and group markings on this plane were unbelieveable.

What I want to know is where can someone get a Me-109V1 model? I am interested in modeling the entire series. So if someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do I like Me 109's??? does a bear do it in the woods?? You bet!! Over the last thirty some years I've built 5 or 6 in 1/32, 25 to 30 in 1/48, and another 20 or so in 1/72. Including in that a Bf 109 Z with a conversion set from ,,was it cutting edge or leading edge, and 2 HobbyCraft G-14 kits.Total cast about $35.00. The only one I really would like to do yet is a 1/48 scale G-12 2-seater trainer, I have tried several times with Falcon and some English outfit but have never been able to get past the canopy. I still have about 15to 20 1/48 scale kits to build and the Hasegawa 1/32 too. Fred Amos

The 109 is my second favorite German plane. But inpw1, the FW-190 series was the best German fighter of WWII. In the hands of a capable pilot it could do wonders. I've got 6 109s' to build and 8 FW-190s' to do yet, but they're on the back burner at the moment as I'm starting a collection of everything I've seen in 1/72. Does any one make a kit for the Hispano in 1/72?

I guess you could say I LOVE the 109, got 77 built with 64 "waiting in the hanger". Which is my favorite? Love 'em all but the G-10 sure is a pretty machine! My favorite German pilot would have to be Hartmann. Class act!!

I also have several in the box awaiting building. I'm really itching to build the 1/32 Hartmann model. I had the privilege of meeting him the year before he died. An incredible man. I'm still in the Air Force and moving around. The last move I went through say a 1/350 USS Enterprise (Tamiya) get moved from Germany back to the States. The German packers did an awesome job, two safety nets broke, that was it. Anyway, don't want to tempt fate too many times.

Well, it was after all the subject of my very first model and I have built several more after, though none since, I'd say, 1982... I don't even have any in my rather large collection of unbuilt and partially built models...

It's still a very nice looking aircraft, and I do not mind looking at the numerous Bf-109 one can normally see at any model show, but as far as Messerschmitts are concerned, it's the Me-163 Komet that I like best!

Yep. The Hasegawa Bf 109 is one of my favorite kits to build. I even use my latest one (Bf 109K-4) as my signature !

I only have one bf-109, but out of the 10 or so planes I've built, the messerschmitt had to be the funnest, most gratifying.

Yuppers, I like them - of all the german aircraft I have built, the 109 is the most numerous by far. An earlier reply/post stated they were looking for decals of the F version based on the west front. Aeromaster #48-227 entitled "Bf-109s of JG53" has two F-2s based at St.Omer-Arques airbase in France, 1940/41. Finally, an interesting tidbit, the first aerial kill of WW2 was not by a messerschmitt, but would you believe, a stuka overa polish P.11 fighter.

I can´t wait to see Duxford´s Black 6 flying again after its accident a few years back. Its one of the few Daimler powered 109´s that was in flying condition.. It unfortunalty overshot the runway (if I recall..) and ended up upside down in a field. Pilot was okay, I think..

Well... maybe I'm not the biggest fan of Bf-109, but I do like this plane, specially F version (still looking for some Western Front decals). Last year I have a chance to see Bf-109 G-6, which was restored by Polish Eagles Association ! This fact impressesed me to bulid my own 1/48 Bf-109 G-6 (Academy) as a "Yellow 3". Regards! Aleksander

I love them. I wish there were more that were in flying condition, but I hate seeing them, or any other WWII aircraft crash.

I have bad dreams about it. Really!!!
