Well there is a modeling magazine, I can't remember the name of it, but it has blue prints for all different scales of a certain selected plane, usually chosen by monthand name of the plane. That's about all I can find

I've had great success writing to the corporate historian of the aircraft in question, though now, with all the mergers, etc. I've been sent plans, drawings, photos, etc. Give it a shot, along with all these other great sources.

Going to the NASM will be your best bet but, this might help you a little bit.

I looked in the pilot's manual. I don't think it is as detailed as you want. It has fuel and wingfold systems, and great cocckpit layout, but not much else.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

I agree with plane captain. I receive a BUNCH of tech data on a very old airplane I was working on. A 1928 Laird Swallow, to be exact. There is absolutely nothing availble online that I could find. NASM sent me blueprints, photos, tech data, everything.

I have a scanned copy of some of the original Vought blueprints including what you are looking for and for the wing wiring layout (plus more). Send me an e-mail and I will zip them and send them.

Go into the archives section of the NASM thru the internet, you can put in your request on e-mail and they'll send you a list of what they have available on the specific aircraft you requested.Just got a "BIG" package from them on a request I made to them 2 wks ago. They are very helpful and go out of the way for you.Just be specific and let them know EXACTLY what your looking for. They give you directions on e-mailing your request just follow them and you should be pleasantly surprised at the results.

I will look at my pilot's manual tonight and see if it shows what you are asking about. Can't answer until tomorrow, if some one can help before.

I have scoured the web and even called vaught industries trying to find plans or schematics of the F4U-1D. I'm building the 1/32 revell model and im bashing it big time. I need to find out where the radio components are set up and how the wiring and linkages were ran through the fueselage. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
