I request excuses to the forum
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 3:19 AM
Dear Friends,

Yesterday in the morning I left a message announcing some kits that I sold. The moderator and webmaster of FSM have written to me noticing to me that that is not allowed and of some users had complained.

I want to request excuses to all. I am a modeller and a collector, not a professional store. It was not my intention to bother to anybody.

Please, they accept my excuses (and for my bad english, too).

A greeting to all,

Angel Cabrera

Angel,

No Problem! Hopefully in the future this will be allowed, but in the meantime you can try selling at http://www.scalehobby.com/forum/ . This is a growing forum, and we'd love to have you join us!

Hello Angel,
I am one of those that told the moderator and my post is here (at the bottom of the page) http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=461. In it I list my reason for my conclusion. I apologize for my wrong conclusion and hope you aren't offended.
Please stay with the forums and maybe we can learn from each other.

PS - Your english is better than some of the Americans on this forum.

Hi Angel My humblest apologies to you . your ads looked to me to be from a comercial outlet and that is why i left a post for the moderators. I didn't want to apear "prudish"
and i am sure that you will agree with me that this site is best left as it is. By that i mean "by modelers for modelers"with no comercialism. That said maybe their is a good arguement for a FOR SALE thread ?
Also your english is fine my friend, much better than my typing...Gregers

There really should be a forum topic that allows trade among private individuals. I think it's a little over the top to have to purchase ad space to sell a few kits. A separate forum would protect thoughs who are bothered by the free commerce. As a regular particapant of the forum I took no offense and am glad you are on the Scalehobby.com forum. Nothing furthers this hobby quite like receiving a box containing a long hunted for plastic treasure from a friend in the hobby! Kit Collector Clearinghouse is a publication that also caters to the private trader/collector and well worth the subsciption price. Here is John Burns email if you would like to join. cheersjb@swbell.net

AH! KCC...

I agree on the subject of a trading forum here on FSM.

Here's a thread on the subject:

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3885

Here's another thread on the topic, but kind humorous:

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4178

It's rather plain that a business decision has been made by the brass at FSM and that, for now, our efforts are in vain. I will continue to mention the Scale Hobby Tradin' Post for those who wish to take part.

Hi Folks. I know i have mentiond this before on another thread but i think the way to go on this subject would be for a "wanted" thread. i have no problem with anyone selling off a few kits they no longer want or intend to build i just think we should not have comercial outlets advertising on here. to highlight the sort of problems it can cause look on the Landrover enthusiast magazine website forum. some guy was selling gritblasters for £20, loads of people sent thair money off and heard nothing more from him. I wouldn't want the same sort of thing happening on here thats all and that is why i gave the moderators the "heads up" call. I hope i didn't cause any offence to anyone by doing so and if i did i apologise ...HAPPY MODELING...Greg

Hi Artecar sorry if i caused you any offence. As i have already stated i now know you are not part of an online shop or anything like that . the above post was just to highlight what could happen and i am sure you would not do anyhing like that.
and it was not my intention to imply that you would.
i have looked at your models on the other thread and you are without doubt a modeller(a very good one too) Best regards and happy modeling ...Greg
