What did you use to make the gunpower exhaust trailing back from the 50's? Really nice touch, I like that you left some space between the streaks. Just a note as well, because I'm a geek, the outermost barrels wouldn't have as much as they have fewer bullets and run out a while before the other 6 guns. Great looking model, that jug is going to be my next project, but I need to find Robert Johnson's nose art and tail numbers. I know he was hv-p until the very end of the war, and I even know the names of the planes, but I've never seen the nose art in any pic. Ah well, great work on the jug!

Very nice work on the T-bolt. Maddafinga, Supe Scale has produced several sheets in 1/48 with several of Bob Johnson's a/c. Lookfor them in the aftermarket. As far as references, the Squadron book on the 56th ahs several photos and illustrations, as does the Hess book on the same subject. Hope this helps. - Ed

Ah-hah, thanks! !'ve been looking at aftermarket decals for the jug, I just haven't found any of Johnson's markings, I'll keep looking however. I've seen the squadron book, but haven't bought it just yet, but haven't seen or heard of Hess's, maybe I can track it down. Thanks for the info!

Sweet job, maddafinga. Big Smile [:D] She looks awesome.

I've done similar streaking on my B-17 using black water color. Put a couple of drops where you want the streak to start, then take a damp cloth and lightly pull back to create the gun or engine streaks. I've read about your pastel method. I'll be sure to give that a shot sometime as well.

Actually it was 7793 who built it, we just got into a discussion about streak. I have some watercolor, I might try that next time.

OOPS !!! Blush [:I]

Thanks, Madda. That's what I get for being on the forum at 2:00 am.Sleepy [|)]

Sorry, 7793. Nice job !!!

Madda, I used the watercolor streaking method over enamel. I'm not sure how it will work with acrylic. So, if you use acrylic, I'd stick with your method.

I use enamels actually, but I think that if I put down a good coat of future the effect would be the same. Since I'm an artist, I do have a good supply of watercolors, in the tube, they should work great.

Though I've been considering switching to acrylics, it's just that I've only now started to accumulate a good collection of enamels and hate to have to replace them all. I think cleanup would be a lot quicker, easier, and less stinky. My girlfriend's brother uses acrylics with good results, I always had doubts about the coverages with them. I may just start slowly adding them

7793

Nice job on the Jug. I have the Tamiya P-47 but have yet to build it. Did you run into any problems during assembly? Either with fit or assembly sequence.

Thanks
