Great choice! Unfortunately, I haven't come across any reference to a name for this color, a color number or even a suggestion for a color match.
And I only found two sites that have any decent info on French F-8's. The first site has an "okay" photo gallery of Crusaders. But there is also an
excellent walk-around of around 150 photos or so.

This next site has smallish photos, and mostly they are of retired & museum aircraft under restoration or on display. There are a few good shots of several operational French Crusaders, though.

Again, I haven't run across any color references of any sort, except that it's a dark blue-gray. I also read in a couple sources that it may have been an IR-absorbant paint. (?) But, I've provided a link to an FS 595B site with color samples that you could use as a general reference to match the color.

I'd start with the *5042-*5045 & *6008-*6099 range (linked on the left of the home page) to see what may be close. This is the best I can recommend right now. I've been looking for awhile on this (since you first posted) and this is all I can come up with so far.
