Shinden canopies
Posted by Texgunner on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 7:17 PM
I'm currently working on Hasegawa'a 1/48 Kyushu Shinden. I've done quite a bit of work on the cockpit and sure would like to pose the canopy open to show it off. The kit's front section will not fit properly over the rear section and I was wondering if anyone out there knew of vacumn-formed canopies for this plane? I appreciate any help/suggestions/advice,etc. Thanks a lot. Gary

Hmmm... I dunno if Falcon or Squadron have any vac canopies for this one. I think Falcon did...

I searched on www.squadron.com and found nada. Anyone else know about this one?

Hey, thanks for the reply. I've been wondering if anyone out there might do vac-forming "sub-contractor" work? One could mail them the master part and they could duplicate it and return the work. Any interested parties?

Look at www.greatmodels.com click on "database" search for "1/48 kyushu"

They show a Falcon product for $13. I can't tell if they are vac canopies, vac masters, or what? Call Great Models. They should be able to tell you?

Hope this helps.

Did some surfing. They are vac canopies. Falcon, for the most part, doesn't sell single canopies. They sell them in sets of half a dozen or so differnet canopies.
