Panda Models F-35 - - - STICKERS!?!?!?!?
Posted by John P on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 9:16 PM
Holy crap. Why bother making such a well-made airplane model (if a bit inaccurate) and stick us with peel-and-stick markings? I'm mortified. Angry [:(!] Glad I have some F-16 aftermarket sheets to scavenge.

John

Are they really "Peel and Stick" ? I looked at them when I first got the kit and couldn't tell if they were stickers or just really bad decals. I was afraid to give them a try.

I thought they were decals, but I'll check again.

Nope, they're peel-and-stick printed on shiney clear vinyl.

That's just plain wrong.

I hope they shape-up their act before the release their 1/35 Chinooks and their 1/32 B-17s. Does anyone know if Panda has done this on their other a/c; like their 1/144 B-1? Smile [:)]

Okay, hang on. I gotta learn to look more closely before I go public Black Eye [B)]

The decal sheet IS apparently waterslide decals, but they're very high gloss, and the sheet is covered with a thick clear acetate protective sheet that lifts off. It was easy to mistake it for a sheet of stickers without looking closely. Sorry, folks.

Quite all right! Big Smile [:D] My dad got the F-35B (I'm still waiting on the "C"...) and I opened it. We both thought at first that they were stickers too, until we realized that they were decals! I just hope that the decals on their 1/32 Hornets are of better quality.

Oh, that's right! I just transferred it back to Ron and did a little cross-tabbing. Notice anything missing from the pile at Ace? (jk*) Tongue [:P]
