For 1/48, Su-27 is a big plane to fit in a shelf. 1/32...well it's going to be huge. I've built an Academy Su-27. It's quite detailed. The cocpit is a little bit spartan. Aftermarket will cure it. Zhengdefu kit is a crap. That's why it's cheap. Form the molding, it is a copyof the Academy's kit. For me it's only good as replacement parts. If you still want to build it, it's going to give you a lot of work. Still why limit the choice to only Su-27. We have the Su-30 and the upcoming Su-35 and 37. If the kit is not available, conversion can be made from the existing kits.

Hmm...it seems Trumpeter WILL release the 1/32 Su 27 in the near future.. just look at the website
http://www.argo.net.au/jbwhole/trumpeter/trnew.htm

I wonder how big the model is...I'm sure it will be "tall and handsome" once it's completed. lol

Oh by the way, one question, Trumpeter has many 1/32 kits, but why is their A-10 so much more expensive than the others?

Trumpeter has announced a 1/32 Su-27, quite a while ago, actually.
If they ever make it remains to be seen.

The Academy 1/48 Su-27 is an excellent kit.

Is that Zhengdefu(sp?) SU-27 any good? The local Hobby Lobby has it pretty cheap...Gary.

What do you guys thinking of the Academy kit? What aftermarket accessories are available? I know the cockpit is poor based on reviews but they have aftermarket parts for that so that's taken care of. But I also heard the missiles and bombs aren't very accurate? Is there anything for that? Also, any aftermarket parts to enhance the exterior detail? Lastly, what decals do you guys know that exists for the kit? Thanks

Have you seen the 1/48 scale SU-27? That is one big model. A 1/32 scale would be huge.

I have it in 1/48 and it is pretty big. This trend of large scale a/c becoming popular is very interesting (Academy's F-18, the 1/35 chinooks coming out and the 1/32 scale B-17 Panda is doing). I don't know where people are putting all these large models, obviously people are buying them but I just can't see owning more than one. As great as the Academy F-18 is and as much as I would like to see a 1/32 SU 27 I just can't fathom owning one.
