I use a Badger 155 Anthem and am very happy with it. It's dual action, parts are easy to find (and relatively cheap), it's easy to clean (I can completely diasassemble, clean, and reassemble the airbrush in about ten minutes), and it has quality construction (all metal). Plus, the price is reasonable compared to some of Badger's more advanced models (you can get a combo kit for around $120--the brush alone can be bought for around $80). The only drawback is that it doesn't have interchangeable nozzles for fine, medium, and coarse spraying, but its adjustment range is broad enough to compensate for that.

I recommend the Badger Crescendo 175, a dual action, well built, hefty yert well balanced, and comes apart very easily for maintanence.

I would recommend a one time purchase - the Aztec A470.

My experience has been that this is a spectacular tool that is very easy to learn how to use. It comes in a wooden box, with multiple nozzels which can be used for a variety of model applications (although I have only found it necessary to use two).

It also comes with a brief (20 minute) VHS tape which explains how to use and clean it.

1. The brush is easy to clean (spend the bucks to get the cleaning station as well) which is often the nightmare problem with airbrushes. This means you can change colors rapidly.
2. The brush is reliable - I have had no failures
3. The brush has simply fabulous support by 800 number from testors
4. The brush will work just fine with testor's paint right out of the bottle
5. The brush can be used in two mode - single action or double action. As a beginner you will probably start with single action, but it is surprisingly easy to move to double action
6. I had used a single action badger for about 20 years before moving to this brush, and found it splendid. My son, who has never used an airbrush before started with the Aztec and also loves it.

Rember, you will have to get a good compressor as well.

Best regards

well if your first starting out you may want to try a single action airbruch then work into a dual action, I started out with a Badger 200 series the moved to the Badger 150 series and now Badger has updated their designs so they are easier to clean & maintain, you may have a different prefance like a Paashe or another but I had great success with my ole Badger, and the Badgers are not to expensive too. and you could by them at just about anywhere also try the Testor/Aztec airbrushs they also are fairly easy to operate and cleaning is a snap plus the heads are far cheaper then the others and it maybe to your pocketbook too some of these guys are very expensive but like all hobbies when you out grow one thing you need the next step up from the last, and remember have fun airbrushing is going to open a whole new door into the hobby and you may get the rest of the family into playing with the airbrush

I want to upgrade my airbrush. I'm looking to buy a good dual action one. Four main qualities I look for are:
1. Can handle all my needs, even as I become very advanced.
2. Easy to clean (easy to disassemble, ect)
3. Spare parts easy to find.
4. Quality workmanship, so it won't fail me anytime soon.

Any particular models (a particular product in a company line, not a scaled down version of a real thing) you guys can recommand me? Thanks.
