I found the review but it is in the Feb. 1999 issue. It looks like a nice kit! here is the link if you would like to read the review. http://www.finescale.com/fsm/article.aspx?aid=879 Wink [;)]

I know this is an older topic but I just happened to read it. There is an article on the super-detailed buildup of this kit in the January 2000 issue of FSM. Hope it helps. Also Aviation Usk has now moved to Nebraska. check out their website at www.aviationusk.com

The Xotic kit is Aviation Usk's house brand. Their F2G Corsair was an award winner a few years ago. Its a nice kit with recessed panel lines, PE detail, great fit and it's a unique a/c to add to a collection. GreatModels and Aviation Usk still have it listed in their inventory for about 20 bucks. - Ed

The Xotic-72 kit is injected with resin air intakes for the top of the nose, and a real nice photoetched cockpit. The only thing missing is a prop spinner cone (the instructions give dimensions to fabricate one) that was used on some of the racers.

I think you guys are talking about the same kit. Isn't Xotic-72 Aviation Usk's house brand? Any way is the Aviation usk kit injection molded and does it have finely ingraved panel lines?Question [?]Smile [:)]

Hi guys,
I've got a 1:72nd. F2G kit made by a company called Aviation Usk, bought it a few years ago, it's a limited production kit with a couple of resin and a PE fret, photo negative type instrument panel and markings for four Super Corsairs,
NX91092 race number 18 in dark blue,
USN example coded C51 in dark blue,
N5590N race number 94 in white with clipped wing tips,
N5588N race number 57 in a red and white sunburst scheme
nice little kit ( must get around to building it sometime ), excellent instruction sheets and photocopy's of actual airframes all in a very bright box ( with colour pics on it )
The company's address on the inst. sheet is:
Aviation Usk, PO Box 97, Usk, Wa 99180
Phone/Fax : (509) 445-1236
E-mail : avusk@povn.com
Web site : http://povn.com/avusk
I don't know if they are still making kits.
Cheers
Pete

What does your kit consist of? Injected, resin, or vac? I would like to build a F2G and I wonder what that kit is like.

I just purchased a 1/72 acale F2G made by Xotic-72. I intend to build it as one of Cook Cleland's Thompson Trophy racers. Has anyone built this kit or know of Xotic-72. What can I expect?
