Can a plan from Fujimi's modern carrier deck crew series do the job????
I can scan them for you, as the pieces....
And if you can get the scaling right, i think you can do it...
What do you think???

Now, they're at 1/72 scale, and i know that it's still around a 1/48 set....

By the way, if you have any pics for the carriers vehicles and crew, could you sent them to me???
f14_fan@hotpop.com, but please keep the e-mails below 500Kb...
or e-mail me to an alternate e-mail, O.K.???

Kitty, darn you and your reasearch project! Now I'm bitten by the research bug! (Like I need any help with that). I was tooling around and just kept getting references to "carrier deck tractors", etc. until I stumbled upon a link to pao@cnap.navy.mil which is "Navalese" for Public Affairs Office for the Commander of Naval Aviation Pacific. I requested any and all information regarding the various tractor types, designations, nomenclature...(keyword for information!), etc. I'll forward anything I get to you.

Hey Kitty, I built a Vietnam era service cart for my 1/48 diorama of an F-100. I started with the basic shape of the unit, which was kinda square and went from there. I cut a small block of wood to roughly the size and shape of the unit and cemented sheet styrene to the sides, added various bits of wires and dials and wheels and, voila! If I can figure it out I'll post a picture of the finished unit so you can see it! Good luck!! Cool [8D]

I was thinking of the same thing. But even if you get a drawing, how do you plan on scratch building it? What material will you use? Do you need to work your own metal?

I would like to scratch build the models of navy tow tractor and fire tractor 1:48 (same model of the product of verlinden). I can find the complete picture or image of them from the webMy problem is that I can't find the drawing (plan, right, left, front view) of them. If you know the sources or any useful information, please inform me.
Thanks
