The color shown on the back of the box is closest to correct. There is no proper FS number you can use to match this particular blue, you need to eyeball it. This was a situation where the squadron mixed what they had to come up with the color they got, which was a light blue.

Go to

and e-mail Tom Meyers, the Art Director:

I'm pretty sure he does the research, or a lot of it anyway, and probably has the best handle on the color. He is a super nice guy, and posts on this forum sometimes, so he'll know where you are coming from with the question.

I built the solid nose, and loved the kit!

Hey jimz66,
Heres a web site that might be of some help.
www.sunsetters38bg.com. This is the unit that "Dirty Dora" came from before going to the 345thBG.
The closest color I could think of to use is FS 35190(Lt blue) per ref pics.
So really I guess any shade of light blue would be fine since nobody really seems to know the exact match since it was mixed up by the sqd.
In the long run, what ever shade you decide to use, I feel that you would be safe.

Hi Jim,
Not sure if this will help you out much or not but when I built my Dirty Dora I had the hardest time figuring on which color to use. Finally, after not being able to find much info on the topic especially in terms of color photos, I just decided to mix some colors until I got the shade of blue that I liked. That's all it came down to. I made a color that I thought looked reasonable and went with that. To this day I am still very happy with the way it turned out. Also, it was getting to the point where I was so wrapped up in research that I was forgetting that I was supposed to be having fun!

Hope this helps,

Eric

Hi Guys, its me again. Been awhile since I've been here. Question on the blue for the Dirty Dora for the Accurate Miniatures B-25. Is it closer to the painting color on the front or the photo of the finished model on the back? I like the color in the painting better but want mine to look right if you know what I mean.

I love this kit. I have four of them and there going to be my second project after my six Hasegawa Tomcats in the same scale.
