Nice photos. They sure pack those planes in tight. Now I know how sardines feel!

May I irritate you as much as someone did me a year or so ago when I made a similar post. It is hangar not hanger. Mischief [:-,] Smile [:)]

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

CVW-11! That's my old CAG! Although it's alittle different now. I was aboard Enterprise and then Lincoln. We had VF-114, VF-213 - (F-14A), VA-95, - (A-6E), VA-94, VA-22 - (A-7E), VS-21 - (S-3B), VAQ-135 - (EA-6B), HS-6, (SH-3), VAW-117, (E-2C) and VRC-40, (C-2B).

It's still wierd seeing the Black Aces and Tophatters flying Bugs, especially on the west coast. Anyway, thanks for the pics Dragonfire. Are you assigned to Nimitz? If so, have a great cruise brother!

Wayne: You're right...Hangar Bay. Tongue [:P]

Navy AO: I'm not assigned to the NIMITZ. My company sponsored Outback Steakhouse/Carrabbas and flew the cooks and the food out to NSA Bahrain, the Horn of Africa, and the NIMITZ. They cooked for all the Sailors and Marines at each location. We flew aboard on the COD (C-2A) and flew off.

I remember being on NIMITZ for a night (during OIF I) and that was when VFA-14 and -41 first deployed with the Super Bugs. How CAG-11 has changed in a year and a half...no more S-3Bs, and a Marine SQDN has replaced the Navy F/A-18A+ SQDN that was on board. She's a pure Hornet deck in regards to Strike (with exception of the Prowlers, Thank God they're still there...for a little while).

Dragonfire,

That's very cool, how lucky are you? An airplane enthusiast getting paid to work on the Nimitz...I bet you were thrilled. How;d you like the sleeping arrangements? When I was aborad Enterprise we did a world cruise. We too went around the horn, very rough waters. Take care.

NavyAO,

I can't complain about my new career. I do the same thing I did on Active Duty...Aviation Logistics. They stuck us up on "DV Row" while on board, so that was really cool.

Did a 3 week exercise on TARAWA back in 2001 and deployed on PELELIU from 2001-2002. It felt good to be back on ship...yep...I guess I am nuts. Big Smile [:D]
