1/24th detail sets
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 7:43 PM
I have most of the 1/24 scale kits b y airfix and trumpeter. They are crying out for superdetailing. I don't have time to scratchbuild new cockpits, etc. Besides waldron, are there any manufacturers who provide 1/24 update sets. I haven't found any on the net.

I've never searched for them but I've never run across anything for them either. I don't think anyone makes anything for the airfix kits but you may see some stuff come out for the new Trumpeter kits before long.

Flightpath do a detail set for the Airfix Harrier in 1:24th. It is expensive (about £53), but it is the best you will ever see.

try this link, or goto www.djparkins.com and just link to Flightpath

Flightpath do sets for bothe the Harrier GR3 and the Sea Harrier FRS 1, they are very nice sets but I hope you like Photo etch, as almost everytning in them is brass. Unfortunately this extends to things that would be better cast in resin. However, you can't go far wrong with them.

Heritage Aviation also have detail sets in resin for the Harriers, I hae both the Heritage and the Flightpath sets for the FRS1 and between the two a very nice model can be made.

Warbird Productions at <http://loru1588.tripod.com/> has 1/24th resin. There are others too but I can't remember right now. E-mail me for more.
